PRACTICE
CHARTER STANDARDS Our
staff will always endeavour to:
Treat everyone equally and with dignity.
Assist in a polite and professional manner.
Answer the telephone efficiently and effectively.
Provide a private room to discuss matters in confidence, with access for any
disabled patients.
Inform you of your rights of complaint with impartiality.
FREEDOM
OF INFORMATION – PUBLICATION SCHEME The
Freedom of Information Act 2000 obliges the practice to produce a Publication
Scheme. A Publication Scheme is a guide to the ‘classes’ of information
the practice intends to routinely make available.
This scheme is available from reception.
ZERO TOLERANCE
The NHS operates a policy of zero tolerance - please be courteous to our staff who will be courteous to you. Bad language, shouting or threatening behaviour is unacceptable.
PATIENT INVOLVEMENT AND SUGGESTIONS ON HOW TO IMPROVE OUR SERVICES The practice would like to extend an invitation to patients to join a 'Patient Focus Group' covering access, quality of care and clinical excellence. Please ask to speak with the practice manager, Les Viner. There is also a suggestion box in the waiting room.
COMPUTERISED PATIENT
RECORDS
We are registered under the Data Protection Act and our computer records need
to be up to date, accurate and relevant to your medical and social needs. The
doctors, nurses and receptionists may ask you to check or complete some of the
details. These details are, of course, confidential and will only be
released in accordance with strict medical ethics. If you wish to see
a printout of your medical details you may do so after giving two full days'
notice. A fee authorised under the Data Protection Act may be charged.
