HOW
DO I...
MAKE
AN APPOINTMENT?
40% of our appointments as pre-bookable and can be booked up to four weeks in advance; the remaining 60% of appointments are made available on the day.
Telephone or call in at the surgery between 8.30am and 6.30pm Monday to Friday but please not before 8.30am as the duty doctor may be out on a call.
Routine appointments cannot be made after 6.00pm so please ensure you contact the surgery earlier in the day.
Routine appointments for nurses can be made in advance.
Many appointments are lost because many patients fail to attend and do not phone to cancel. We will write to those who do not attend (DNA) and after the third occasion they will be removed from our list.
CONSULTATIONS
Consultations with the doctors or nurses are by appointment; this
helps to reduce waiting times. However, emergencies and unforeseen long
consultations mean that a doctor cannot always keep to the time you have
been given. We do try and we apologise in advance if in your case we do
not always succeed. Obviously, patients may be taken ill suddenly and
will always be seen that day if it is felt necessary, although it may
not be by their usual doctor.
Patients may request a telephone
consultation before 11.30am Monday - Friday. The doctor will call you
back so please be available to receive the call.
HOW
DO I...
OBTAIN
A HOME VISIT?
Please ask for a home visit before 10.30am. We cover an area of 100 square miles and the traffic problems in Boston and distances involved mean that the doctor has to plan his visits carefully. We can not give you a time the doctor will visit but they usually do their visits between 12noon and 3pm.
